Don’t say BABY!

Provide each guest with a special baby necklace.  Whoever hears another guest say the word “baby” takes their necklace.  The guest with the most necklaces at the end of the shower is the winner!

 

You can create simple necklaces using bright colored ribbon.  Simply string a plastic diaper pin or pacifier on the ribbon and tie the end.

The Price is Right

Buy 5 baby items like bib, rattle, baby wipes, pacifier or sippy cup.  Write the price of each baby item on a separate index card.  Place the items on the tray and mix up the cards.  Ask each guest to match the correct price with each baby item.  The guests who choose correctly win!

Party Tip:  The Mom-to-Be will enjoy getting the items as an added gift!

A fun game for your baby shower is the baby shower needs game!  Challenge your guests to write a baby item for each letter of the alphabet.  Tell guests to shout “Oh baby!” when they have an item for all 26 letters.  The first one or two people to finish win a prize!  If nobody has finished all the items after about 5 minutes, stop the game and have guests count the number of letters for which they knew a baby item.  The guests with the most items win a prize!

 

Stick with the ABC theme for your prizes with prizes like apple-scented candle, bubble bath or chocolate!

Purchase blank bibs and some markers.  Challenge guests to come up with a catchy slogan for a baby bib like “Got Milk?” Have each guest share their slogan!

Size It Up

Hang a clothes line with various size outfits or onesies in your party room.  Then, label the outfits with the number 1-5.  Have guests write down what size they believe the outfit appears to be.  Give a prize to the person who gets the most correct.  Don’t forget to throw in a preemie, newborn or 2T outfit to really throw them off! 

 Party Tip: This is also a great way to decorate your room with cute baby outfits and the Mom-to-be gets to take home these special ideas as well!

Baby Shower Memory

Challenge your baby shower guests’ memory with this game!  Before guests arrive fill a tray with numerous baby toys and baby items.  Rattle, teether, book, diaper, wipes, pacifier and stuffed animal make great choices.  Cover the tray with a towel or baby blanket.  Start the game by uncovering the items and exposing them for about 10 seconds.  Then remove the trap from sight.  Have guests write down as many items as they can remember.  The guest who remembers the most wins a prize!

Give the mom-to-be the items used as an extra shower gift!

Baby Word Scramble

See how well your guests can unscramble letters to spell baby-related words!  Provide each guest with a game sheet containing numerous baby-related words scrambled. Make sure to include some hard words like layette, nursery rhyme, bassinet and motherhood. Ask the first one to finish to shout “Oh baby!” and they win a prize.

Tip: A word search or a crossword puzzle book would be a cute prize for this game!

Sink or Float Game

Everyone knows a rubber duck floats but what about other baby items?  Have guests predict which items like a rattle, pacifier, bottle, and teether will sink or float.  Have guests write the name of each item and “sink” or “float” on a paper.  Set up a small tub of water and give it a try!  The guest with the most items correct wins a prize.

 

Tip: Use a baby or infant tub for the game.  Then give the tub and items to the Mom as an added shower gift!
